THE four-day procession carrying the 'Thanka Anki,' the golden attire to be adorned on the idol of the lord during Mandala Pooja ceremony on December 26, will begin its journey from Aranmula Lord Parthasarathy temple on Sunday. The procession carrying the golden attire, weighing over 451-odd sovereigns donated by former king of Travancore royal family Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma, in a specially-built vehicle, will leave Aranmula at 7 am.
A special devaswom 15-member team, headed by P Sunil, will lead the procession up to the Sabarimala temple here. An armed police team numbering 20 and a medical team with ambulance facilities will accompany the procession. After leaving Aranmula, the procession will be accorded receptions at Aranmula Punnomthottam temple, Elanthur Lord Ganapathy temple, Elavumthitta Devi Temple, Mezhuveli temple and Prakkanam temple before the first night halt at Omalloor Sree Rakthkandaswami temple.
On the second day, after leaving Omalloor, the procession will be given receptions at Kodunthara Subramaniam temple, Pathanamthitta Dharma Sastha temple and Vettur Sree Mahavishnu temple before the second night stay at Konni Muringamangalam Siva temple.
