IN A tragic incident, two critically ill patients lost their lives as ambulances transporting them were trapped in a severe traffic block on the Ramanattukara-Kakkanchery section of the national highway last Saturday night. The matter came to light on Monday when ambulance drivers disclosed the events, highlighting the negative effects of poor traffic management.
The two patients were identified as Sulaikha from Edarikode and Shajil Kumar from Vallikkunnu. Sulaikha was being transferred from the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences, Kottakkal, to Iqraa Hospital in Kozhikode when the ambulance was caught in the traffic.
