Sources at the state transport department stated that, as per the proposed rates, three-wheelers will attract a fee of â¹20, four-wheelers â¹40, and medium and heavy vehicles â¹60 and â¹80, respectively.
Notably, two-wheelers, electric vehicles, CNG vehicles, ambulances, and other essential service vehicles will be exempt from this charge. The implementation of this initiative is expected by the end of the month or in January of next year, aligning with the transport department's ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and environmental sustainability.
