In 2024, the State, particularly Visakhapatnam, saw a surge in public interest regarding the lavish constructions atop Rushikonda Hill. This renewed attention came after the TDP-led NDA government gained access to the previously restricted buildings.

Photos and videos of the controversial project subsequently surfaced, sparking widespread discussion. Built during the tenure of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government under the guise of promoting tourism, the structures had remained inaccessible to the public for years, fuelling speculation and criticism.
