The former Batangas governor and her sons were accompanied by her husband, Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, in filing their COCS at the office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) at the provincial capitol.

The "star for all seasons" said she was responding to calls from her constituents and local mayors for her to reclaim the gubernatorial post.

Vilma, who is also former mayor of Lipa, said she and her sons are running under the "Tuloy ang Serbisyong Recto" battle cry, and their platform of government would focus on HEART - health, education, agriculture, roads and infrastructure, tourism and security.

At a press conference at the Sampaguita Farm in Batangas City, Vilma was asked what changed her mind as earlier reports indicated she is suffering from political fatigue.
