Arijit Singh's Siliguri concert throws town's traffic out of gear

Imagine Lord Shiva getting stuck in traffic jams on his way back home with the other members of his family. This is precisely what happened on the lanes and by lanes, roads and streets of Siliguri last evening.

Nittya Gopal Das, a bohurupi dressed as Lord Shiva and his family members dressed as members of the Shiva clan, while returning to their home in Eastern Bypass from Burdwan Road after collecting alms on the roads and streets of Siliguri throughout the day as part of the Charak rituals, got caught up in the huge traffic jams in the town during the evening, which was triggered by the concert of popular Bollywood singer Arijit Singh at the Kanchenjungha stadium in the town.

Das, like thousands of commuters, who travel on the arterial roads of the town every day, faced tremendous inconvenience. "It took nearly two hours for us to cross the town to reach our house in Hatiadanga in the evening," Das said.
