Speaking to agencies, Elangovan said "As of now the case is over, there is no judgment against Senthil Balaji. He was already released and became the MLA."
Earlier on 21 December, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Vice President Narayanan Thirupathy stated that Balaji should have resigned the previous day and slammed his actions in the ongoing case.
