The event was inaugurated by the principal and secretary of the college, Professor Ajanta Paul. It featured Ambarish Nag Biswas, secretary of West Bengal Radio Club and chairman of Indian Academy of Communication and Disaster Management, as the chief guest.
Addressing the students, Prof. Paul focused on the importance of ham radio in today's world and how they are trying to make students aware of this less popular, yet very significant, mode of communication.
"We are very happy to organise such an insightful workshop. There are endless opportunities where we can use ham radio. We as a college can try and understand the scenarios and help and equip our students so that they can make use of this very important communication tool," Prof. Paul said in her speech.
