This is the second such event in the country; the first was held in Rajasthan last year.
The 'Baal Satra' is being organised by NGO, Future Society as a part of the digital campaign, Digital Baal Mela in association with LIC, under the aegis of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly at Shimla in an effort to make children's voices heard.

A total of 68 child legislators, 13 cabinet ministers, 3 ministers of state, and 4 parliamentary secretaries will set the tone for a grand finale of the campaign that is aimed to generate political literacy.
