I SAVED A LIFE 10,000 MILES AWAY

A KIND donor's stem cells arrived just in time to save a patient's life on the other side of the world.

Dad-of-two Matt Skeet was at death's door with acute myeloid leukaemia and surgeons in Australia had just minutes to give him a stem cell transplant.

The cells, which were frozen on their mammoth 10,000-mile journey, came from hospital PR manager Kate Heron, 31, of Sheffield, South Yorks.

And now Matt, 44, who runs a family construction business, his wife Jodie and daughters Poppy, 11, and Maggie, nine, have retraced the stem cells' steps to meet and thank Kate.
