Jehad still asks me to put his shoes on to go to the beach. What am I meant to tell him?

AT three years old, little Jehad is too young to understand that life has changed for ever, and he will never again be able to slip on his shoes and run to the beach.

Every time he asks his mum if they can go out to play her heart breaks again, for he lost both his legs in an Israeli air-strike on Gaza.

His dad Mahmoud, 33, suffered severe burns to his hands and had to have a leg amputated after the blast.

Mum Naif, 25, was also hurt but dug Jehad out of the sand with her hands. She said: "He still asks me to put his shoes on so that he can go [to] the beach. Jehad used to love going to the beach with his dad.
