Hyderabad: Not just apartment cost or rent, maintenance charges for those living in gated communities in the Cyberabad region have also gone up exorbitantly post-pandemic.

In fact, some communities have hiked maintenance charges by 25% to 50% in the last year. Most communities in this area are charging anywhere between ₹1.5 per square foot to ₹3.5 per square foot as maintenance charge from residents.

“In our community, the maintenance charge has gone up from ₹4,000 to ₹6,000. When we questioned this, the increase in prices of diesel for providing power backup was cited as the reason,” said Vikranth K, who stays at a gated community in Gachibowli.
