Mumbai: A day after being released on bail in a money laundering case, firebrand Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut struck a reconciliatory tone by singling out deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis for praise and expressing a desire to meet him soon.

 Sena’s chief spokesman also took a dig at CM Eknath Shinde saying that Maharashtra is being run by the deputy CM and not Shinde.

Raut said such political vendetta as he had experienced was unheard of, but he bore no grudges against anyone and would not blame central agencies for it. The Rajya Sabha MP said he would visit Delhi to meet PM Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah to apprise them of the hardships he faced in jail over the past 100 days. His statements seemed at odds with those of his party chief Uddhav Thackeray, who continued to accuse central agencies of being puppets in the hands of the Centre and doing its bidding.
