Come November 1, the Secunderabad Cantonment will have a new policy on unauthorized and illegal flexes, banners, wall posters, and cutouts being rolled out. According to SCB officials, the rules have been framed to avoid the "ugly flexi wars, especially among political parties." They said that the new policy has been drafted based on norms and penalties that are currently in place in neighbouring GHMC.

"Putting up flexes for birthdays, shops and showroom openings, laying of foundation stone and inauguration for government-sponsored schemes etc., cause not only the inconvenience but also pose a threat to the safety of pedestrians. They also ruin the look of public places," said an SCB official explaining why this policy has been curated.
