Jaipur: The simmering feud between Ashok Gehlot and his in-house challenger Sachin Pilot dramatically flared up on Wednesday with the latter leaping upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi's praise for Rajasthan CM to question his loyalty to Congress.
“The PM had similarly praised Ghulam Nabi Azad in Parliament. We saw what happened next and this should not be taken lightly,” Pilot said, referring to Azad quitting Congress to float his own party.
Pilot's sharpest-ever attack in public on the Rajasthan CM was not impromptu.
He was speaking to reporters whom he had invited: something which demonstrated, party sources said, his resolve to embarrass the CM and send a message to the Congress leadership about his credentials as a loyalist vis-avis Gehlot.
