Mum div last, but has best 90%+ club in HSC

A batch that spent its junior college years away from campus has graduated to university life with a success rate of 93.2% in the state. Mumbai division recorded the lowest pass percentage at 89.7% across Maharashtra, and yet its performance has been the best in the past decade, barring 2021, when it was a no-exam year.

Mumbai: Meanwhile, the elite 90%plus scorer club in the state has shrunk considerably to 10,048 from 91,420 last year. Although Mumbai was at the bottom of the pack in pass percentage, it boasted the lion's share of 2,766 students who got more than 90%.

Konkan division, the smallest zone, recorded the highest pass percentage at 96.7%, followed by Nagpur with 95.8%. Amravati division that had reported the maximum cases of copying had a success rate of 95.2% and was in the number three position.

E-classes shrunk high scorer pool: Principals

Mumbai: Even as the number of HSC high scorers saw a drop this year, some college heads said that the holding of exams in students' own campuses might have helped push up marks in general.
