Anti-dust measures taken at sites, but many polluting gaps still exist

One glaring one was that few water sprinklers had been deployed and some were not working. Also, efforts to contain loose earth or cover construction material were not rigorous.

PWD is constructing a flyover near Sarai Kale Khan Inter State Bus Terminal on Ring Road. According to the rules, no loose soil or construction material is to be left uncovered and an anti-smog gun must be installed at the site.

Amid heavy traffic movement on the road, loose soil dug up for constructing the flyover was making its way on to the main road though there are wind-breaking walls around the site which have gaps at many points. One smog gun was stationed at the site but it was not working. According to a security guard deployed at the site, it had been non-functional for the past few days.
