New Delhi: Roads in the national capital seem to be in for a major revamp with both the chief minister and the lieutenant governor championing their cause on Friday.
CM Arvind Kejriwal on Friday morning tweeted the image of an order issued by chief secretary Naresh Kumar on Thursday regarding repair and maintenance of one road in each zone every week. “Delhi Government’s Weekly Action Plan to make the roads luxurious: Every Saturday, every agency (PWD, MCD etc.) in each of its zones will make every road under its control spectacular,” he tweeted.
Three hours later, Raj Niwas stated in a press release that LG V K Saxena has expressed the hope that the orders with regard to repair/ maintenance and cleaning of ‘One road per zone/division every week’ issued on Thursday by the chief secretary “on his directions will bring much needed and long-pending relief to the residents and commuters of Delhi”.
