New Delhi: To woo voters ahead of the crucial civic elections early next month, chief minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Friday announced his “ten guarantees”. These include making Delhi a beautiful and garbage-free city, eliminating corruption in the corporation, simplifying the licensing procedure for traders, repairing roads, regularising contractual employees and paying timely salaries to all municipal staff.
Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said AAP had given certain guarantees to Delhi before the assembly polls and many of those promises had been fulfilled while work was on to deliver on the others. “We will fulfill all our promises in MCD. Our guarantees never fail,” he said, adding that AAP had the blueprint to make Delhi the best global city.
The MCD elections are slated for December 4 while votes will be counted on December 7. This is going to be the first civic poll after reunification of the three corporations.
