After a businessman on his way home was shot dead by men on a motorcycle in southwest Delhi's Bindapur early on Monday, the Dwarka police have launched a manhunt for the shooters. The incident sent shockwaves through the local trading community, which held a protest against the cops.
Around 12.30 am, Mohit Arora was returning home from his sari showroom with his elder brother, Rohit Arora. The brothers run three showrooms under the name of Delhi Saree House in the locality. The brothers, carrying the day's earnings, took the usual route home, just a kilometre from the showroom.
The deceased, Mohit, was the pillion rider: "My brother was shot dead just after we entered the lane to our home," said Rohit. "Two men rode up on a motorbike head-on and forced our scooter to stop. The one on the pillion got down and fired at my brother."
