‘PASSA, TIARAS, SHEESH PHOOL IN GOLD AND KUNDAN ARE IN DEMAND’
Usually, jewellery shopping for weddings would mean looking for necklaces, bangles and earrings, but modern brides-to-be now want a range of hair accessories added to their look. “Brides are equally interested in dressing up their hair as much as they are interested in choosing the right necklace or bangles. Of late, hair accessories have been in demand a lot. Some of the hair accessories most in demand are maatha pattis, passa and even tiaras, as they are being worn at cocktail parties,” says jeweller Piyush Gupta. “This wedding season, stone-embellished side clips and jadau bands have also been in high demand,” shares Pratik Dugar, spokesperson of a jewellery brand.
“We have demand for passa, maatha patti, maang tikka, borla, hair brooch, tiara and sheesh phool in kundan and gold. We have noticed a huge increase in demand for hair accessories in the last one year. They have been the trendiest accessory of this wedding season and we are already getting a lot of orders and queries for these. Earlier, only necklaces and earrings were given importance as far as bridal jewellery was concerned, but it is not the same anymore,” says jewellery designer Abhishek Kajaria.
