It’s sunny and warm and doesn’t feel like hockey. But a friendly recorded voice at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport reminds passengers waiting for their bags that there’s plenty to do in South Florida, including going to Sunrise, home of the Panthers, “where you can watch a hockey game.”

If you’re a Maple Leafs fan, you know the series is the culmination of Year 57 without a Stanley Cup. One of two teams — the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers — who didn’t exist the last time the Leafs won a Cup will get their names engraved on the silver chalice. The Oilers are going for their sixth Cup, the Panthers their first.

And you know you’re going to watch this series.
