Travelling is something that most of us enjoy. It takes us away from the daily grind, helps to break the routine and monotony of work, and transports us to exciting environments that allow us to feel free and unwind.
Travelling, then, is not just something that many of us love, but something that we need to maintain a healthy life balance. But someone with a wanderlust spirit goes even further. They feel an impulse that can neither be stopped nor described to explore new cultures and places. If you find yourself daydreaming about travel photography and craving adventure, and you rarely feel settled in one place, then you probably have a bad case of wanderlust!
Some of us are struck by wanderlust at a young age, perhaps upon seeing our first mountain or after a whiff of salty ocean breeze. For others, the feeling comes later in life, maybe while gazing out of the office window sipping a cup of tea and longing for something more.
I have always loved travelling and adventure - but, like all photographers, I have been anchored firmly in one place due to the pandemic of recent years. So as the travel restrictions were lifted, one of my lunch breaks turned into the planning of a long-term photography adventure. The idea came to fruition, and I soon found myself gazing out over the mountain horizons and climbing over coastal rocks in my bare feet...
What is wanderlust?
We have always been driven by the desire to explore and discover. It's not uncommon for us to push our boundaries, motivated only by the need to traverse the unknown
