Adobe Lightroom Classic is a powerful but accessible piece of software that makes it simple to organise and edit your photos. You can save your edited and enhanced images, and you can also easily revert to your original shots if needed. Over the next few pages we'll highlight many of Lightroom's most impressive tools and features, and show you how you can use them to transform ordinary images into something special.
To start with we'll explore some key settings and options in the Lightroom interface, before looking at both basic and advanced editing and, finally, the process of saving and exporting your images. Lightroom's editing software is non-destructive, so you can always go back and make changes later.
Whatever you like to photograph, there are all kinds of ways in which you can use Lightroom to take your photos to the next level - let's dive in.
1 UNDERSTANDING THE LIGHTROOM INTERFACE
Work with speed and precision within the main developing window
The Develop module is where you'll spend most of your time enhancing your images and making them the best they can be. With options available for almost any style of photography, you'll always be able to tweak your images subtly or delve deep into the colour, contrast, spot healing filtered gradients and many other powerful tools so that your images look exactly how you want them to. The Develop module is split into sections, with panels on either side of the Content Window, in which the photo you are currently working on is displayed.
1 NAVIGATOR WINDOW
The Navigator allows you to preview your images while browsing through the Filmstrip as well as to quickly zoom in while editing.
2 CONTENT WINDOW
This is the main area where you view photos. You'll see any adjustments you make appear here in real time, giving you full control over precise editing.
