BEST GOLF SHOES

This year, weâve tested 14 models from a wide range of brands in an even wider range of styles to decipher which shoe should be your go-to for the 2024 season.
Spiked
It feels like spiked golf shoes are currently enjoying something of a renaissance. On tour, spikes still dominate at a roughly 80/20 split as it remains the best way to generate the most stability and traction in your swing.
Under Armour has designed its newest spiked shoe â the Drive Pro â from the ground up with the help of Jordan Spieth and world-renowned biomechanist and coach Jean-Jacques Rivet. The brand has designed a new Swing Support System, which focuses closely on the outsole, lacing system and midsole technologies. Under foot, itâs softer than previous Under Armour shoes â which we appreciated â but itâs still firm enough to support the foot in just the right areas. The lacing system is great too, hugging the foot for a superb fit. While it feels great to play in it, we felt the quality of materials wasnât quite up to scratch compared to its competitors around the same price point.
Although not new this year, we got to test the Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 3 for the first time earlier in the season and were suitably impressed. This is Rory McIlroyâs shoe of choice and is the kind of stable, supportive model that someone who is as powerful as he is must demand. Itâs certainly a bit firmer and stiffer than other spiked shoes weâve tested, but if that feeling is to your taste, there are plenty of stylish, limited-edition colours that drop throughout the year.
