SQUASH SENSATION

Some athletes are destined for greatness from a very young age, and Anahat Singh is undoubtedly one of them. With her consistent performances at the international level, she has proven that her future in the world of squash is indeed brilliant. As squash was included in the Olympic Games, Anahat is now seen as a strong contender to clinch a medal at this prestigious sporting event.

At the age of 15, Anahat recently secured two bronze medals at her debut appearance in the Asian Games. With an impressive tally of 56 national circuit junior titles, 13 international junior titles, and 7 women's titles under her belt, she has rightfully earned the title of the poster girl of squash.

Hailing from Punjab and currently a 10th-grade student, Anahat recently sat down with Sports Champ Magazine to discuss her incredible journey in squash and her aspirations for the future.

The Journey

Anahat's journey into squash is quite unique. She began her sporting career playing badminton until the age of eight, where she won several local titles.

However, her elder sister, Amira, was a squash player, and it was while watching her matches that Anahat's fascination with the sport grew. Recognizing her interest in squash, her parents encouraged her to take up the sport alongside her sister, and she started playing squash at the age of eight. Guided by her elder sister, Anahat quickly gained confidence and began to rack up wins, eventually leading her to compete in the under-11 category of the British Open Championship, which she won. From that moment on, her path in squash was set.
