The League One minnows lost five of their first seven games and failed to register a win until the middle of last month.

But after getting off the mark with a 3-2 win at Port Vale, the Brewers have taken eight points from a possible 12 and head into tomorrow's televised clash at home to Cambridge seeking to extend their unbeaten run to five matches.

"If you're a club like Burton in League One and you get a fixture list where you play all the top clubs, that can happen," says the Tunisian, who took charge following the resignation of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink last September.

Tough

"That first month, we played Leicester in the EFL Cup, we played Blackpool and Barnsley away, Derby and Bolton. All the big boys, straight away.

"I also lost six of my starting XI to injuries in the first week of the season, which would be tough for anyone.
