EXPERIENCED Chesterfield striker Will Grigg has hailed the impact of 'incredible manager' Paul Cook in relighting his goalscoring fire.
Under Cook, Grigg grabbed 26 goals for Wigan in 2017-18 but, after he joined Sunderland for a then-League One record fee of £3m, a four-and-ahalf-year fallow spell followed in which he only made the scoresheet 29 times.
However, he has rediscovered his potency since reuniting with Cook in Derbyshire.
Ahead of yesterday's home match with Barrow, Grigg had hit the target nine times this season, having also claimed a 25-strong tally last term to fire the Spireites back into the EFL as National League champions.
On the ex-Wolves midfielder's transformative influence, Grigg told The FLP: "I've always absolutely loved football so it was tough to have a dip in form following a big move that didn't necessarily work out for one reason or another.
