DEFENDER Eoghan O’Connell has urged his Wrexham teammates to meet their Birmingham City examination ‘head on’ tomorrow night.
The high-flying duo meet in one of the most eagerly-awaited League One games of the season at St Andrew’s.
Wrexham have been perpetually in the headlines ever since Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the then-National League club in 2021, while the Blues made the football world sit up and take note when they splashed out a League One record fee of £10m-plus to lure striker Jay Stanfield, 21, from Fulham on transfer deadline day.
It has all the ingredients of a blockbuster, but Irish centre-back O’Connell – cousin of Irish rugby legend Paul - isn’t losing any sleep over potentially coming up against the likes of Stansfield, ex-QPR forward Lyndon Dykes and ex-Charlton hitman Alfie May.
