THE goals flew in from all angles as the Bristol Street Motors Trophy revved into action again in midweek.

There were 35 goals across the nine ties – an average of almost four per game. Birmingham led the way with a magnificent seven as they crushed Fulham U21s 7-1 in Southern Group A.

Ex-Fulham striker Jay Stansfield and Ayumu Yokoyama both bagged doubles, while Alfie May, Keshi Anderson and Lyndon Dykes also got on the scoresheet for the Blues, who sealed qualification for the knockout stages. Martial Godo replied for the Londoners.

Of 21-year-old Japanese winger Yokoyama, manager Chris Davies told BluesTV: “He is working hard for the team and his two goals were a joy. I had a great angle for both of them and they will do his confidence the world of good.”

In Southern Group G, Demetri Mitchell notched an 88th-minute winner as Exeter ran out 3-2 victors at Bristol Rovers in an entertaining clash.
