PAUL Heckingbottom praised Will Keane's professionalism amid transfer speculation after his winning goal helped Preston to a victory over Luton Town.

First In Heckingbottom's match in charge of the Lilywhites, Keane bagged his first goal of the season in the 39th minute to secure a big three points against one of the division's favourites for promotion.

West Brom have reportedly enquired about Keane's services in the past week, but his new manager quashed claims that he would be leaving Deepdale.

"He's happy here," Heckingbottom said. "He's a good professional. Contracts are contracts, aren't they? The time to sell is when you've got a replacement in. Even from a business model it doesn't make sense [to sell] for me." Heckingbottom added that he was pleased with his team's performance, despite not being around for very long in his new role.
