But Mitchell was ready for a return to League Two action when Harrogate Town offered him a short-term contract four weeks ago after first-choice Mark Oxley was ruled out for three months due to a ruptured calf tendon.
“I got away a couple of times,” he said. “I went to watch the Tour de France and England play South Africa in the Rugby World Cup semi-final in Paris.
