Cunningham, 25, who has appeared in every PWR round so far this season, says her love for the sport was created and nurtured by grassroots coaches and players at her first club, St Maryâs Old Boys, based in Almondsbury.
As a club centurion, Cunningham hopes for more Bristol born and bred players to rise into the clubâs first team and has already seen an increase in interest in playing from her interactions with supporters.
She told The Rugby Paper: âI was born in Southmead, so Iâm Bristolian through and through. I used to watch the menâs team play at the Memorial Ground. The club has been part of my life for a very long time and there is no other team that I would want to play for, itâs Bristol or nothing. I get passionate about Bristol and what it means to me because Iâve seen the club grow from when we were based at Cleve to now running out at Ashton Gate.
