Xiaomi has been a pioneer when it comes to reasonably priced and well built trimmers for the masses that are travel friendly and practical. The latest in the trimmer series is the Xiaomi UniBlade Trimmer that seeks to continue that tradition by promising one trimmer for all types of styles. It also claims to be a one stop grooming kit with 14 length settings and a floating shaving head. Does it live up to its claim? Let us take it for a test drive! The model we tested is the X300 model.
As with other Xiaomi trimmers, this UniBlade trimmer looks sleek and feels good in hand with the right weight distribution. It comes with the usual accessories - a protective cover, adjustable trimming comb, USB-C charging cable and a quick start guide. The trimmer head is removable for cleaning purposes and the trimmer is rated IPX7 - This means it can be submerged in water up to 30 minutes. But, the bottom cover came off in our first use because the cable holding it easily broke off exposing the USB-C port. So, we are not sure if we can expose it to water. Xiaomi user manual says that we should not use it in the shower or the bathtub.
The trimmer uses a rechargeable battery that lasts nearly 60 minutes on a single charge and this is more than enough for basic needs. Full charge takes about 90 minutes. The travel lock feature is easy to enable and is useful when we put this in our bags.
