Emmerdale actress Emma Atkins reveals she and her character Charity Dingle share the same madcap sense of humour...

Immerdale viewers tune E in week in, week out to Iwatch the hilarious antics of one of the show's most popular characters, Charity Dingle.

However, when it comes to dedication there's one fan who is always at the head of the queue... actress Emma Atkins's devoted mum Lili.

Even after 23 years watching her daughter get into all sorts of scrapes as the controversial pub landlady, Lili is still straight on the phone when the credits roll to let Emma know how much she's enjoyed the show.

Emma smiles as she says, "She'll tell me when she likes my hair in an episode, or when I've said something that's made her laugh.

"If it's been an emotional scene, she'll say, 'oh, me and your father watched tonight and we were in tears.'

"Or if I'm not speaking clearly, she'll say, 'Can you slow your lines down, because you speak too fast. You're brilliant, but you just need to slow down a bit!"

"Lili will no doubt have plenty to say about Emma's upcoming episodes, which see Charity tying the knot for a fourth time this time to Mackenzie Boyd, played by Lawrence Robb.
