When Christie Solaro tucked her children in for the night, she had no idea it would be the last time...

With two young children, you could certainly say love was at the centre of Christie Solaro's life.

At aged 37, being a mother was her greatest joy, and she would do absolutely anything for them, from taking them to swimming lessons to helping out at Scouts.

She was close to her ith two young children, you could certainly say She quie cor mother, Debbie, too, who was always at hand to help with the children.

Being a stay-at-home mum, with the kids aged eight and three, she relied on financial support from her ex-partner and policeman, John Formisano.

They married in 2010, having two kids together, but had since separated and were going through a divorce.

Although, their relationship was still strained-John was known for withholding money and groceries from the family if he was angered and Christie had expressed fear over his controlling impulses.

She lived a content and quiet life, though, with her new partner, Timothy Simonson, in what had always been her family home.

Having previously worked as a trained behavioural therapist, her main motivation in life was helping others.

She dedicated her life to being around children.

On the night of 14 July 2019, Christie tucked her kids into bed as usual, settling down in the bedroom with Timothy.

It was her usual routine.

And, on their quiet street in New Jersey, nothing abnormal ever seemed to happen.

Only, shortly before 11.30pm, the peaceful street was disrupted by the shocking sound of gunshots.

Minutes later, Police were on their way.

Neighbours had made a 911 call after finding a woman lying flat on their porch steps, dripping blood.

'A man just shot his wife in front of my house,' the neighbour told the dispatcher. You've got to hurry up, she is dying in front of my house, please."
