For me, deciding to stop shaving was a gradual process, but I quit it for good around five years ago. As someone with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (a condition that may leave skin more prone to breaking or bruising), freeing myself from the mind-numbing, fiddly task of shaving my legs, pits and bits felt liberating. And by not having to worry about my body hair, I've got more time to focus on other self-care rituals that I find more satisfying, like expressing myself with make-up.
