Desperate with worry, the King made the shock decision to contact his daughter-in-law

It has to stop and you're the one who can make that happen. That was the message a worried King Charles gave Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, in his desperate bid to reunite with his son.

The weary monarch went behind Prince Harry's back, contacting his wife, and pleading with her to end the feud and help mend the relationship.

"Charles would never contact Meghan directly without Harry's approval, but the stress and worry over Harry, and his grandkids, is getting to him and he snapped," a royal source reveals.

"Charles has never felt so out of his depth as he does when it comes to Harry and Meghan. He just can't comprehend how bad things turned so quickly after their wedding and it's hard for him to bite his tongue when it comes to the destruction Meghan's arrival had on his family." And at the age of 74, he is well aware of the need to spend time with all his grandchildren, including Archie, four, and Lilibet, two.

"He fully expects Meghan to tell Harry about their conversation, but he also managed to get a few pointers to Meghan and make it very clear that her husband's daddy has no intention of walking away, no matter where they are in the world."
