The late literary icon's unfinished novel has come to life in star studded fashion

For years, celebrated author Truman Capote sat at his typewriter, trying to finish a book that he was certain was going to be his magnum opus.

"The novel is called Answered Prayers and if all goes well, I think it will answer mine," he wrote to his publisher Random House in 1958.

Thinly veiled as fiction, the story was based on a coterie of elite socialites who all resided within New York's Upper East Side - his "Swans", as he liked to call them. Spending their days attending lavish events and gossiping by the pool, the Swans - who included magazine editor Barbara "Babe" Paley, model Gloria Guinness, Jackie Kennedy's sister Lee Radziwill, socialite Lady Nancy "Slim" Keith and actress CZ Guest - epitomised Big Apple glamour back then. And Truman was obsessed.

Through the literary influence and fame garnered from his masterpieces In Cold Blood and Breakfast At Tiffany's, the writer was invited into their glittery world. Intrigued by his intellect and stories, the Swans began to confide their deepest, darkest secrets.
