Millions of women are impacted by cervical cancer every year, making it a major health concern worldwide. Cervical cancer growth has been associated with the prevalent sexually transmitted infection known as Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The development of HPV vaccinations in recent years has completely changed the landscape of cervical cancer prevention and provided a potent weapon in the fight against this dreadful illness.

HPV And Cervical Cancer

HPV is a group of viruses that can infect the genital and oral areas of both men and women. Most occurrences of cervical cancer are caused by certain high-risk HPV strains, specifically types 16 and 18. Since HPV infections may not show any symptoms, they are frequently ignored. Persistent infections, on the other hand, may cause aberrant cells to grow in the cervix and eventually result in cervical cancer.
