The Rover V8 is almost as much of a legend as the vehicles it powered.
Its time came and went, but after more than 30 years under the bonnets of everything from the Stage 1 to the Vogue LSE it will forever be part of the Land Rover story.

With the Range Rover on the way, Solihull’s engineers needed to test the V8 in some sort of vehicle – and the result was a Series IIA that’s now a classic among classics.

Talking of classics, the classic safari trail through Africa is more just than one route. But all of them lead to Tanzania, which is widely held to have the best wildlife in the world. In this month’s issue, we’ve got this leg of a pioneering trans-African expedition aboard, would you believe, an L322 Range Rover.
