Stamp Magazine - July 2022
I denne utgaven
In our July issue, we look back at the smaller-scale producers of British first day covers in the late 20th century, and find that there is scarce material to be discovered and investigated, if you look outside the mainstream.
We also celebrate stamps featuring venomous snakes, which are a popular philatelic theme worldwide despite the fact that we are scared of them and often stigmatise them.
Our new monthly series on Britain’s commemoratives from the early years of Queen Elizabeth II studies the curious Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference issue of 1957, which was essentially a rejigged definitive. Commonwealth Classics recalls the 1898 pictorial series of British Guiana, while Victoriana features a 1900 cover to China, where British troops were occupying Peking.
Our news pages reveal a new future for Stampex, include full details of Royal Mail’s special issue illustrating Cats, and feature the latest highlights from the auction rooms.
