I denne utgaven

The cover of our September issue of Saint Martin Magazine features a single blade of wheat, just like when Jesus likens His followers to a grain of wheat, teaching that true spiritual fruitfulness comes from self-sacrifice, as exemplified by St. Martin de Porres through his humility, charity, and imitation of Christ.
This month, in our series on Irish Dominican Martyrs we explore the martyrs of Longford, Patricia Hope details the History Of Libraries and Marie Therese Cryan highlights King Henry’s VIII’s establishment of the Church of England, breaking from the papacy while retaining several traditional Catholic practices. We rejoice in the brothers of St Martin as three Irish Dominicans are ordained to the priesthood - a wonderful occasion for the Dominican Order during our 800 year celebrations. These newly ordained priests have dedicated their lives to serving God and His people, following in the footsteps of St. Dominic with a commitment to preaching, teaching, and the pursuit of truth.
We are thrilled to share that the restoration of our National Shrine of St. Martin has sparked an overwhelming response, reflecting deep devotion to our beloved Patron. We are immensely grateful for your generosity and warmly invite you to a special Mass at 11:30 AM on St. Martin’s Feast Day, 3rd November, 2024, at St. Saviour’s Church, Dominic Street, Dublin 1. (error – Printed as October 3rd) The newly restored St Martin shrine will be unveiled and blessed by the Papal Nuncio in Ireland during this Mass. Please join us to witness the beautiful refurbishment made possible by your support.
