Bajirao Mastani Jewellery Conquering Millions of Hearts

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus project Bajirao Mastani has won 9 awards in different category at the Filmfare Awards. The accolades for the lavish set, royal attire and magnificent period jewellery started pouring in when the promos hit the stands. When the movie released, the jewellery turned the spotlight on itself. It reflected trends of a bygone era not only through references in speech, where one gets a feel that pearls were quite popular, but also through visuals where jewellery, as an adornment unfolded the background and socio-cultural standing of the main characters. The costumes and jewellery from the movie represented the grandiose of that period in our history. We couldn't take our eyes off the jewellery Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra (actresses) were wearing. Set in the 17th century, the epic is a quasi historical bollywood movie, based on the story of Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao. AOJ's Bina Thakur takes you through the journey of Bajirao Mastani's jewellery creations.
