Highlights of India Today Malayalam issue dated September 10th, 2014. The issue was Onam special issue with a bouquet of special stories. The issue covered many a story on survivals despite the barriers raised by class, caste, gender and religion. Civic Chandran, BRP Bhaskar, Cherayi Ramadas, K Venu, S S Sreekumar and M N Karassery discussed about how Kerala is fast losing its renaissance values and retreating to the darkness of casteism in its social and political establishments. The life and art of danseuses Dr. Rajasree Warrier and Meythil Devika were portrayed in their detailed profiles which covered their personal and professional lives. Interview of ace writer Sethu, who is known for his work "Pandavapuram" was another attraction of the package. The issue featured three memoirs: One of Nedumudi Venu, legendary actor of the South who is best known for his memorable roles in Malayalam and Tamil films; Anju Bobby George, the athlete who has made it high in the World Athletic Championship and Shibulal, one of the founders of Infosys. The profiles of young entreprenuers- Ashok Mani, Rima Kallingal, Jison Paul and Shalini James and techie-turned artistes- Anumol, Jude Anthany Joseph, Hiran Venugopalan, George Joseph and Vijesh Gopal- were an added attraction. The life stories of three men- Shamsuddin, the street magician who is the lone practioner of The Great Indian Mango Tree magic; Gemini Shankaran- the man behind Jumbo and Gemini circuses that thrilled generations and Abubacker- renowned tabla artist who has performed with artistes like M S Baburaj- have added color to the entire package. Outside the Onam package was a detailed profile of pulp king Chetan Bhagat. The issue also featured faces like Mia, Vikram and Kankana Raunat in its eyecatcher page.
