Moreover it has the ever memorable shorts stories of the veteran statesman and political leaders of our Odia language like Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab, Nityananda Mohapatra, Godabarish Mishra, Surendra Mohanty, Nadini Satpathy and many more. The another fold of the topic carries the views and opinions of the present-day politicians Sk. Matlub Ali, Baishnab C. Parida, Dr. Kartikeswar Patra, Panchanan Kanuango, Prasanta Nanda and Smt. Umarani Patra. The poems of this issue are also penned by our eminent politicians cum writer. The regular monthly column ‘Batayan’ of Dr. Iti Samanta has a unique story on the meeting of an old politician and old woman writer after so many decades. The discussion of these two old   classmates gives us a very logical and solicitous insight of their experiences & views on this topic. The another regular column ‘ Kalajayee’ has the most popular poem   “Jeeban patra mo bharichha kete mate” of Baikunthanath Pattnaik with a glowing discussion of Prof. Giribala Mohanty. Alike June issues of earlier years, the current issue of the Kadambini has focused on the fabulous and illustrative Recipes which is based on South Indian recipes along with our native. On occasion of Rath Yatra, another feature is on the eternal devotees of Lord Sri Jagannath which carries the myth and history on these Great Souls who had rendered their services to the Lord and remain alive with us since centuries long. April 2017
This is the Special issue of Kadambini focused on short stories under the title “GALPAGATHA”, the most looked-for issue of story lovers. The issue carries fascinating short stories of well-known fictionists of Odia language. In addition, five stories of young & promising short stories writers of the language which were received in response to the annual short story competition of Kadambini under the title “GALPA UNMESH”.A translated novella by legendary Malayalam fictionist Muhammad Vaikom Basher is an addition to fiction special issue.  A new column under the title “Kalajayee” carries a short story written by Padmashri  Gopal Chhotray with short preface & analysis  on the story placed, as a centenary tribute to this legendary playwright and fictionist. This issue has many interesting articles on various topics on third gender which is rare and unique in the field of contemporary features in Odia language. The topics on this issue includes our myth, scriptures, philosophy, psychology ,sociology and medical science on third  gender and transgender. The interviews with eminent personalities like Acharya Mahamandaleswar Laxmi Tripathy and Meera Parida, Chairperson of All Odisha Third Gender Welfare Trust, Sadhana Mishra, Aiswarya Rutuparna and Mr. Pratap Kumar Sahu focus on articulate live experiences of this community. An article on Biju Pattnaik written by Prof. Santanu Kumar Acharya is a tribute  to this legendary statesman of our state on occasion of  his   birth centenary.
