Achievers’ Awards 2019 held at the Hyatt Regency, Chandigarh in March 6, 2019. The event was a one-stop motivation platform for women doing commendable work in their respective profession and for the society at large. These leading ladies inspire so many around them, they have been
working silently for years and have done credible work in their respective fields. We salute their contribution to their work and to the people around! The cover lady of the edition is Elnaaz Norouzi, the face behind some of the leading fashion and cosmetic brands of the world. Her impeccable beauty, her persona and the right attitude makes her a perfect face for these brands. A recent MoU between the Chandigarh Police and the Art of Living foundation is nothing short of a historic move. A Director General of Police who wants his policemen to ‘happily serve people and without stress’, is an indication of a good leadership. 2500 policemen shall undergo yoga, pranayam and meditation sessions shortly to help them handle everyday stress and pressure with ease.

The festive edition of TLJ Magazine carries a bouquet of interesting reads. The edition has remarkable stories from all walks of life- fashion, festivity, beauty, entertainment, travel and other inspiring stories. There are festive recipes from noted chefs on the inside pages and some interesting health and diet tips from leading public sector medical professionals. The yesteryear star Bhagyashree, who rose to fame with ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ movie in 1989 and was the highest paid address in those days, adorns the cover page of November 2023 as she is set for her second innings. Not only has Bhagyashree bounced back in films, but her son Abhimanyu is also cited as a promising newcomer in Hindi movies. Bhagyashree is seen with an exclusive shoot on the cover and the inside pages with her traditional look and form. At 54, she exudes elegance and is all set to leave a mark in her second innings. A special segment is dedicated to the inauguration of TLJ magazine’s fashion and mass communication institute- the Institute of Fashion & Communication Technology- IFCT. The first centre of the institute has come up in Kharar,
District Mohali Punjab, which was inaugurated in October 2023 by Justice Vinod K Sharma, Lokpal Punjab, among other distinguished. He encouraged students to follow their dreams and passion. The event saw a fantabulous show of culture and design by the talented batch of design and communication students. I hope you have a great festive time and year-end with friends and family!

The Lifestyle Journalist magazine completes eight years of its stupendous existence in August 2023. The magazine has traversed a fantabulous journey covering the best stories from all walks of life. A recent observation from an IIM-Bengaluru professional was that our work at TLJ magazine reflects a deep passion for journalism, which is a great compliment for us as a team. As we create another milestone, I wish to thank all our associates, writers, advertisers, team members, printing and distribution heads, and all those who have been associated with us in the past and now for their support. Some of our team members have been with us since the inception of this magazine, we thank them deeply, and it’s
a moment of joy for us to look back and reflect. As we celebrate this milestone, it gives me immense
pleasure to share that the parent organization of this magazine has established a new fashion and
communication institute in February 2023 (Institute of Fashion and Communication Technology, IFCT), intending to transform fashion and communication education in India. The first centre of IFCT has been set up in District Mohali, Punjab. Back to the edition, our August edition cover features Sunny Leone, who talks about her life as a wife, mother and actor. Her interview talks about her journey beyond
what is known about her life. The inside pages include interesting interviews of a power couple, both IAS officers from Punjab- Aashika and Himanshu Jain; and Dr BS Rathore, who owns BRDS- a leading fashion coaching institute in India with over 78 centres. Our June edition features eminent personalities from all walks of life- true to the name of the magazine- The Lifestyle Journalist! IAS Officer of 2012 batch, Dr Priyanka Soni, currently the Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula (Haryana), aims to maximize the benefit of public-friendly government systems- she shares her inspiring story of constant balance between motherhood and efficient leadership. An Assam Cadre IPS of 2013 batch, Dr Ramandeep Kaur, presently working in the Intelligence Bureau, narrates her journey in this edition. She is fearless and dedicated- a leading lady of law enforcement! Another interesting article by artist Lippi Parida on JP DAS (IAS) and his magnum opus book called ‘A Time Elsewhere’ is a delight to read. A story on Prof (Dr) Sameer Aggarwal, Department of Orthopaedics, PGIMER, Chandigarh, is my personal favourite. Such high is his efficiency, that even before I arrived for his interview, his homework was stronger than mine (what we call backgrounding in journalism!).
A dynamic, workaholic multifaceted personality- is how I describe him! The edition also includes a candid conversation with legendary cricketer Kapil Dev; who insisted our photographer to click him just the way he was-naturally! Hope you enjoy reading the edition.

The last few weeks have been very significant in terms of India’s position in the global arena.India’s popular movie stars coming together for Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, was a novel event. An excellent place in India to host major cultural and world events! Our edition includes the best of looks from the event. The edition also includes interviews of politicians, leading surgeons, bureaucrats and much more. The story of Dr Megha Bhargava, IRS officer from Mumbai, who is consistent with her social work and is a Cambridge scholar herself, is inspiring. Prof Sandeep Bansal, from PGIMER Chandigarh, who aims to create awareness about Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) shares interesting insights into having a good sleep pattern and lifestyle issues OSA can lead to if not paid attention! Mr. Satyapal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India, shares in our legal column, his story of struggle days and
how he overcame obstacles to traverse a journey of being a newspaper hawker to his current profile.
The edition also covers interesting stories in the area of fashion, travel, beauty, health and an excellent column on monotone interiors. Finally, on cover, we have ace TV actor Rashmi Desai, who has been surrounded by rumours all these years about her link-ups! Married to Captain Amarinder Singh, former CM of Punjab with royal ancestry, she has been an Ex-Minister of State for External Affairs with the Government of India. Honestly, I was
charmed by her presence of mind, intelligence, and extremely caring attention towards her guests. The staff at New Moti Bagh Palace, Patiala, where her interview was scheduled, vouches for her compassionate and caring nature. ‘It doesn’t matter whether it’s a helper or a gardener. If someone is hurt or in pain, she will make sure her car drops him at the hospital,’ narrates one of her office staff members. The close aides have been with her for 3-4 decades since she began her political journey. Read the

Come October, and Indian streets are abuzz with festive lights and colours! People from different parts of the country are immersed in varied festive activities. Rising from the dismal performance of the past, the Indian film industry is also witnessing an upsurge of movement with new, exciting dramas and movies coming up both on OTT and in cinemas. Our October edition has an exclusive interview of Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, a young musician, songwriter and now an actor- who hails from a family of artists and is all set to become a big name! She is talented, has studied at the world's best music college in Boston and is now set to rule the music industry in India. Additionally, the edition features Mouni Roy, who plays the antagonist (Junoon) in the Hindi film Brahmastra. She looks gorgeous in her orange outfit on the cover, and an interesting interview follows on the inside pages. An interesting column by artist and columnist Lippi Parida talks about the book ‘Leaves from a Bureaucrat’s Diary’ and its author Smita Shah. The September edition of The Lifestyle Journalist includes some high-profile interviews as TLJ prepares to emerge as India’s favourite lifestyle magazine, covering constructive, positive, stylish, educative and informative news across all walks and genres of people’s life. Our columnist Mrs Lippi Parida has interviewed Lt Gen AK Singh, former Lt Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, who has written a marvellous book, ‘Men of Steel’, along with Maj Gen Yash Mor. The column and his interview are inspiring and worth reading. The edition features Prof Meenu Singh, the new Executive Director of AIIMS Rishikesh. She may not be the first woman heading an AIIMS institute but is undoubtedly one of the most enterprising female doctors in public health. Her training in the US helped her work with an unconventional twist, and she believes in keeping doors open for her students to create a relaxed atmosphere of open discussion. World Cardiology Day on September 29; the edition was incomplete without profiling a medical veteran from the cardiology field. Dr HK Bali, a famous name in this field, discusses a fascinating aspect. He explains how and why one can save oneself from harming heart health. The news of celebrities who collapsed after or while gyming has been coming lately, and it does cast a question mark on what is the right way forward. Dr Bali very nicely guides on how to balance exercise and also keep your heart healthy! A special segment dedicated to organic farming in the September edition profiles young organic farmers across India and the region. Their stories, struggles and ideas. It is wonderful to see how organic vegetable markets have flourished and now become a norm in India. But, going back to the roots is undoubtedly the way forward.

Our August edition is about 'August personalities' and the 'August
readership' of TLJ magazine!Dedicated to freedom- from vices and diseases! Good health is indispensable to enjoying and celebrating life. We bring special interviews of medical veterans from across India, and an insight into their life gives a fair idea about what to do and what not! Interview of King George's Medical University, UP Vice-Chancellor and India's topmost Pediatric Surgeon Lt Gen (Dr) Bipin Puri, is a must-read. To add to this
is an interview of PGIMER Chandigarh's new Director, Prof Vivek Lal, who makes a fascinating persona with his diverse interests (including history books and war movies) beyond the medical field and his interesting
viewpoints. Daisy Shah, who initially got films of big banners and began her career opposite Salman Khan, has traversed a beautiful journey from being a fantastic dancer to an actor. We now bring her on the TLJ cover because of
her contribution to animal protection during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has exhibited her love for abandoned animals during tough
times, and we admire her for it! We enter our 7th year of publication and
are proud to inform our readers that we are going very strong on both popularity and content- a dream that has always been chased
and cherished by the team of journalists at TLJ. We wish to continue with high standards of journalism and bring to life various aspects of our Indian culture, traditions, and people's lifestyles, positive-good things about our

leading gynaecologist Dr Ritambhra Bhalla shares how her life changed

April- the month of spring and beauty is also the time to introspect
about our health and happiness. The World Health Day (April 7) is not just
about being disease-free but about being healthy in “mind” and “being happy”! So we dedicate this edition to health and fitness. Krishna Shroff, therefore, is the perfect person to appear on our cover. An overweight teenager, who was determined and focused on making things work, is
now leading and showing the way to many  struggling with fitness (along with her brother Tiger Shroff). Coming from a humble background and making their father Jackie Shroff incredibly proud- this brothersister duo set fitness goals for youngsters. Around the same time in youthful years, when psychiatric issues appear to dawn, being fit and conscious of health is an
excellent idea. Veterans and experts from AIIMS, New Delhi and Director Rae Bareli (UP) give us some fascinating tips and tricks to make a
positive effort towards keeping fit! Other experts and masters from the medical profession also share their insights into their fitness mantra. To balance this out and for those obsessed about health and fitness- we must add that it is essential not to be a fanatic or feverish about anything.
Eat well, exercise and meditate. Beyond this, do not complicate and over-discuss health! Happiness, smile and positivity can uplift you at any stage in life and even if you encounter disease, you can get over it. The edition has some interesting articles on travel- sneak peek into several hidden vacation spots in India to explore future summer vacations.

There is no shortage of inspiration when it comes to Indian women. From Vedic times, women were revered and worshipped for the Devi Shakti that dwells in them. The daredevil spirit, the ability to create and nurture, and the capacity to multi-task; all comes naturally to a woman. Here in this edition, we capture some illustrious women of substance. A special highlight of the edition is the interview of Mrs Meenakshi Kekhi Ji, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, India and current Member of Parliament from Delhi. The interesting inputs about her journey are sure to inspire young political workers and young women in general. ‘The power of perseverance’ is how I chose to title her story since her journey is all about perseverance. The story is a salute to her spirit to carry her branded outfits and accessories gracefully (which comes naturally due to her background) and her ability to drop them when needed to be a ground worker for her party and for the people.

Media educationist and stalwart Prof KG Suresh shares his thoughts on contemporary media, the rising job insecurity, about multi-tasking as the new mantra for conventional journalists to survive.  The inside pages have an interesting story of a young politician- Mr Arun Sood, who, as a teenager, was shaken by the bloodshed in his hometown Moga, Punjab, in 1989. The loss of

Mother’s Day Special- Supremely! May 2021

With the culmination of Chaitra Navratri, a rather festive occasion in Indian homes (a subtle salutation to the feminine divine energy within us all), we dedicate the month of May to the Mothers on the planet! While our nation battles the second, and the dreadful wave of COVID-19, reading these rather light-hearted, exciting stories on mothers may be a relief at home for you. 

Diipa Buller-Khosla, India’s Global Influencer, who will be a mother soon (even as I write this note), is a perfect fit on our cover for May 2021 edition. We have captured her bond with her mother in the cover interview. Diipa is an inspiration to millions of young fashion bloggers in India and across the globe. The edition covers some leading moms, some beautiful moms and interesting articles from other genres as well.
