JOHN DAWSON was on stellar form and piloted four winners — three of whom are trained by the Coward family.
John’s winning streak started aboard The Highlander in the club members conditions race, where the pair led from start to finish.
“He likes to bowl away and jumps well — I thought we had gone quick enough, but I didn’t give him a squeeze until the last fence so I knew we would get home,” said John, who quickly followed up in the restricted with Path To Freedom, a five-year-old who won at this course earlier in the season.
The pair were prominent throughout and managed to fight off a challenge from Martha’s Benefit (Will Milburn).
