There is good news for game meat sales north of the border, as chefs and game dealers report a growing demand for grouse in restaurants, pubs and hotels

Grouse Is King As Scottish Diners Want More On Menu

The popularity of grouse is on the rise, with some game dealers in Scotland reporting a substantial increase in demand for the birds.

Restaurants have also said that grouse dishes quickly sell out and restaurateurs and hoteliers are making grouse a staple on their menus during the season.

These positive reports came at the recent Gift of Grouse event, held at the Scottish Parliament two weeks ago, which was hosted by Kate Forbes MSP. It was attended by gamekeepers, game dealers, farm shop owners and other food producers, as well as MSPs and representatives of Scotland Food & Drink, Scottish Natural Heritage, Scotland’s Natural Larder, Game-to-Eat and Taste of Game.
