Lousnak fled the Lebanese war with her parents when she was only eleven years old, first to London, then Paris and finally settling in Montreal.
Lousnak is the granddaughter of survivors of the horrific Armenian genocide carried out between 1915 and 1923 when the western part of historic Armenia was emptied of Armenians.
Her career in the visual arts started as early as seventeen when she worked as an assistant art director with the monthly Montreal Magazine along side her father Hamo Abdalian. She developed her skills as a sculpture under the wings of the great sculptor Arto Tchakmakdjian while attending visual art courses at UQAM.
